Looking good and being healthy are essential to finding new pet parents. We groom and provide medical baths where needed to prepare our cats and dogs for adoption.

Dogs available through the ASPCA are evaluated and attend socialization classes when needed. Adoptions are more successful overall when dogs are relaxed, can adapt and get along with other pets.

Potential Pet Partners are shelter dogs identified by the ASPCA's Animal Assisted Therapy department as having qualities that, with further training, would make them candidates for animal assisted therapy work.

We receive thousands of dogs and puppies at our Adoption Center. All receive a full medical, grooming and a behavioral evaluation. Most importantly they receive loving attention, a comfortable place to sleep, toys and treats.

In conjunction with the Delta Society, the ASPCA facilitates an Animal–Assisted Therapy program that trains dogs, cats and their handlers to bring love, hope and cheer to patients in hospitals, hospices and schools.
